Latest NewsScouts complete Caernarfon Challenge (October 11, 2008)
Five Scouts and one soon to be Scout, completed a series of challenges this Saturday in Caernarfon.
They had to catch a bus from the flyover in Junction and journey to Caernarfon town centre.
Then complete the town Walk - taking pictures of any landmarks they thought was of interest(!!).
During the walk they had to meet up with the leaders on the Promenade for lunch.
Had to work out why Birds of Prey seemed to be on all town sign posts and then make their way back to catch the bus home and then to meet back a the Scout Hall.
Well done to you all.

They headed to Castle Square from the Bus Stop and set off on the town trail.
From the Square they headed for Tan-Y-Bont arch on Greengate Street.
Then heading onto Eastgate Street, where to their right was Porth Mawr which was one of the main entrances to the old town.
In medieval times there was a curfew in place and those not within the town walls by 8pm would be locked out!!!
From there the Scouts headed into Hole in the Wall street in this street is the well preserved Bell tower. (Oh and yes the leaders where seen in the cafe but not for a full breckfast only a pot of tea!!!)
The trail then took them right into Palace Street.
This street once contained 14 inns and taverns.
Staight head at the cross roads into Northgate Street.
This street contains Black Boy inn which, it is claimed dates back to 1522.
A left and a left then a right !! took the Scouts (we hope) to St Mary's Church.
From St Mary's Church they went through the gate and turned left. As they did this they would of passed Victoria Dock which was once a very important trading centre.
Heading along the Promenade to number 9 on the trail which was the Golden Gate.
Here they met up with the leaders and it was time for lunch.
The scouts, once refueled headed along the promenade and turned left into Castle Ditch. And from there turned right into Shirehall Street.
On the left of Shirehall Street they should of seen the former Jail.
Up to the junction they headed and turned right into High Street
Here we are lead to belive they spent the pocket money they had brought with them, and not content with lunch 45 minutes ago some had to get a bag of chips from the nearest chippy.
The leaders then met up with them and they all headed to Turf Square which is under construction at the moment. Turning right brought them back to their starting point.
Drinks then had to be bought for the return journey.
After sitting on the wrong bus home - the Scouts finally found the correct Bus and headed out of the town back to the Scout Hall
Well done all.
